Hello!
My name is Tim and I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I am the dedicated and passionate Family Therapist behind ABC Family Counseling. I started this business for a few reasons but the main reason is for children. My desire and goal is to help each child process their past, have hope for the future and thrive all throughout their life.
In my 12+ years of experience working in the mental health field I have always been incredibly driven by the children and adolescents I’ve worked with. I specialize in children and adolescents who have gone through trauma. In that time I’ve helped many children and adolescents process, and overcome that trauma.
My approach with children and adolescents is by working with the entire family. You will read in other pages that I use family therapy as a way to connect each member of that unit. It is far more powerful to bring the family together as we approach different family issues.
You could say it all started when I graduated with my undergraduate degree in Sociology from BYU and I received my master’s degree from Argosy University. I have been working with children and adolescents since 2004 and I have loved every minute of it. After graduating with my undergraduate degree I decided to work as a social worker for the Division of Child and Family Services. My sole purpose was to protect children and help families come back together. I enjoyed working with families so much I decided to become a marriage and family therapist.
Since earning my degree I have been able to work with children in play therapy and sand tray therapy. I have also worked with various adolescents and helped families understand how to help their children. The catalyst to any successful child is his/her family and their ability to work through problems. Family therapy focuses on ways they can work through problems and resolve conflicts.
I am happily married and have three beautiful children. I enjoy every minute I can have with my children. Just as it is my deepest desire for my children to learn healthy mental & emotional habits so they can thrive in life, I too want to pass that to your children.
