Our approach

You don’t have to navigate this alone

Starting therapy can feel like a big step. The first conversation is simply about understanding what is going on and what would help.

  • Compassionate, non-judgemental care

You set what you want to work on, and nothing is treated as too small.

  • Practical tools you can use

Sessions focus on skills you can take into everyday conversations at home and work.

  • A pace that respects you

There is no fixed script. The work moves at a speed that feels manageable.

  • The whole family, when it helps

For children and adolescents, family sessions are often part of the approach.

Tim Ponce, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist

Meet your therapist

Tim Ponce, LMFT

Tim is the therapist behind ABC Family Counseling. He works with children, adolescents, couples and whole families, and his approach brings the family into the work rather than treating one person in isolation.

Alongside talking therapy he uses play therapy and sand tray therapy with younger clients, so children can work through things in the way that comes most naturally to them.

Questions

Common questions

Do you offer virtual therapy?

Yes. We offer both in-person appointments at the Orem office and virtual sessions by video, where that is clinically appropriate for your situation.

Who do you work with?

Individuals, couples, parents, children and adolescents. For younger clients the work often involves the whole family rather than the child alone.

What kinds of concerns do you work with?

Anxiety and depression, trauma, ADHD, behaviour and family routines, communication and conflict in relationships, and faith transitions. If you are unsure whether we are the right fit, get in touch and we can talk it through.

How do I know which service is right for me?

You do not need to work that out before you call. Describe what is going on and we will suggest a starting point together.

Do you accept insurance?

Fees and payment information are set out on the Rates & Insurance page. Please check directly with your insurer about your own coverage before your first appointment.

Where are you located?
